The Allkem Salar de Olaroz Lithium Project，Ontrac Actuators，1 Week Delivery Time
Allkem’s flagship brine-based lithium facility is based in Northern Argentina and supplies high-quality lithium chemicals across the globe. The expansion of this facility is positioning Olaroz as one of the world’s largest lithium evaporation pond systems.
The deposit sits more than 4000 meters above sea level and lies within the “lithium triangle”, an area encompassing Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina that contains a significant portion of the world’s estimated lithium resources.
As part of an upgrade project, a new power and co-generation plant was being constructed by Allkem (formerly Orocobre). The project team was unable to source key electric valve actuators from traditional suppliers promptly to allow the plant to be completed.
The valve supplier contacted Ontrac to see what they could provide to salvage the Project completion. A 1 week delivery time was specified!
Working together with the valve manufacturer, Ontrac supplied a set of Easytrac actuators to an exacting specification including both Explosion Proof Certification, Modulating Control, and to be run under a single-phase power supply.
The actuators were quickly built in our factory, flown to Buenos Aires, and then driven up to Jujuy province, an overland voyage of over 1700km.
This combination of specification and delivery time allowed the project to be completed on time!
